Bereavement counseling is help and support for people with emotional and psychological stress after the death of a loved one. Bereavement counseling includes a broad range of therapeutic services, including outreach, counseling, and referral services to family members.

We offer bereavement counseling to family members of service members who died while serving on active duty or to family members of Veterans who were receiving services at the time of their death.

We support Gold Star families. We offer grief and bereavement counseling if your service member died while serving on active duty.

We also offer counseling to the families of Veterans or service members who were receiving Vet Center services at the time of their death. We can also help connect you to the Veterans Benefits Administration and National Cemetery Administration to navigate burial and survivor benefits.

We offer individual counseling and refer to support resources in the community. 

Loss can be difficult for anyone. We’ll support you on your journey of grief and through the recovery process through the following services:

• Bereavement counseling for families who have lost a loved one while they were serving on active duty or were receiving Vet Center services at the time of the Veteran's death
• Grief counseling to help with a significant change or loss
• Contact information for the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and National Cemetery Administration (NCA) regarding possible burial and survival benefits
