Bereavement counseling is assistance and support to people with emotional and psychological stress after the death of a loved one. Bereavement counseling includes a broad range of transition services, including outreach, counseling, and referral services to family members.

We offer bereavement counseling to:

• Any family members of service members who died in the service of their country, including National Guard and Reservists
• Family members of Veterans who were receiving Vet Center services at the time of their death

The Richmond Vet Center partners with the Tragedy Assistance Program For Survivors (TAPS).

Williamsport Vet Center is privileged to offer bereavement counseling. We are here for you no matter how recent or distant your loss. 

At the Elkton Vet Center we offer counseling and other support such as:

• Bereavement counseling for families who have lost a loved one while they were serving on active duty
• Grief counseling
• Contact information to the Veterans Benefits Administration and National Cemetery regarding possible burial and survival benefits

We support Gold Star families. We offer grief and bereavement counseling if your service member died while serving on active duty.
