We can provide referrals for addiction treatment. We can also provide additional support if you are engaged in substance abuse treatment with another VA or community provider. 

Our team can help. When together we identify a challenge with substance abuse or addiction, our team will offer referral to VA resources or community options to meet your level of need.

• Jesse Brown VA Medical Center - Inpatient or Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program (ATP)

Unhealthy substance use often goes hand-in-hand with PTSD, depression, or stress. We can help you understand how problematic drinking or drug use might be related to other stressors in your life. We’ll help support you with relapse intervention and prevention. We’ll also help connect you with more intensive or comprehensive substance use treatment programs within VA or in our community, if needed.

We can connect you to services to help with substance use. We can also provide free services to address the underlying issues.

We refer Veterans and service members to our local VA facilities and to community partners for detox, treatment, and medication management.

We refer to several groups in the community that specialize in treatment, including a residential program at the nearby VA Central Iowa Health Care Center at 3600 30th Street in Des Moines.
