How to request a CMS account

Request a Drupal CMS account from the CMS help desk. Drupal CMS access requires a VA email and VA network access.

Contact the CMS help desk

  1. Click the Contact help desk button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Copy and paste the following template into the Details field in the request form.

    Dear CMS Help Desk,

    I'd like to request a new CMS account.

    • Who needs the account? [Enter the person's VA email address and title. For example, john.doe@va.gov, Public Affairs Officer.]
    • What VA.gov content does the person need access to? [Enter the office, facility, or VA.gov page. For example, Pittsburgh health care, Orlando Vet Center, or Outreach Events.]
    • What does the person need to be able to do with content? [Edit only (their edits are reviewed and published by someone else) or Publish (includes editing).]
    • Who can verify this person's permission? [Enter the VA email address of someone who can verify this person's permission.]

  3. Complete all other fields within the request form.
  4. Click the Send button.

Next steps

After you send the request to the CMS help desk, it may take up to 2 business days for an administrator to verify your request and provide instructions for training, if required.

If you receive instructions, follow the steps provided to complete the required training. This must be completed before your account is activated.

The CMS help desk will provide additional instructions on how to log in with your new account once it has been activated.
