Before you start

The video should be hosted on YouTube. At minimum, you'll need the URL and name of the YouTube video.

Add the video to the media library

Before you can insert a link to your video, you'll need to add the video URL into the Drupal CMS media library.

  1. From your homepage after logging in, click Manage in the top toolbar menu.
  2. Hover over Content, hover over Media, hover over Add media, and click Video.
  3. In the Video URL field, copy and paste the YouTube video URL.
  4. Enter the video Name.
  5. Enter the video Duration.
  6. Enter the video Publication date.
  7. Enter the Description. This is used to identify the video in the media library but doesn't appear when the video link is inserted.
  8. Click the Section dropdown menu and select your section.
  9. Enter a Revision log message.
  10. Click Save.

Insert a link to the video URL

You can insert the video URL into a content type (currently Campaign Landing Page and CMS Help Page) that allows you to add an embedded video content block.

  1. Find an existing or create a new piece of content that allows you to add a media content block.
  2. Open the piece of content in Edit mode.
  3. Find the field where you can add a content block.
  4. Click Add content block.
  5. In the Browse window, scroll down to Media list - videos and click Add.

  1. In the new content block, enter a Section Header, if desired.
  2. In the Videos panel., click Add media.
  3. In the Name field, enter the name of the video you want.
  4. Click the Section dropdown menu and select your section.
  5. Click Apply filters.
  6. In the results, find the video you want and click the checkbox.
  7. Click Insert selected.
  8. Complete all required fields for the piece of content.
  9. Scroll down to Editorial workflow.
  10. Select a Save as state.
  11. Enter a Revision log message.
  12. Click Save.
