Outdated content audit tool

↓ Purpose
Accessing the audit tool
The outdated content audit tool is only available to Drupal CMS Administrators.
- After logging in, click Content in the main navigation toolbar.
- On the right hand side, click the menu toggle for the Content dropdown menu and choose Outdated content.
Purpose
The outdated content tool displays nodes within Drupal CMS that have not been recently reviewed by an editor. The purpose of this is to assist administrators and editors in helping to comply with VA Directive 6102 and ensuring that content on VA.gov is regularly reviewed and updated at least once per year.
Using the audit tool
The outdated content tool includes only nodes in the Published moderation state. It excludes any node from the Event, News Release and Story content type as this is date dependent content and not required to be updated.
The audit tool display is organized into sections, making it easier for notifications indicating the need to review and update this content, to be sent on a section basis rather than to individual editors.
When you first go to the audit tool, the default view displays content that is 1 year outdated - nodes that have not been updated within 1 year from the current date.
Filters
You are able to change the default view by using any of the available audit filters. You can use a single filter or any combination of the filters.
- Type the name of a node into the Title field to filter by a particular node.
- Click the Content type dropdown menu and select the content type you would like to filter by.
- Click the Section dropdown menu and select the section you would like to filter by.
- Click the Outdated dropdown menu and select the timeframe you would like to filter by.
- Some filters display nodes that are not yet due to be updated but that will be due soon. Surfacing this content sooner than 1 year can allow editors more time to review and update their content. These filters are:
- 90 days until due: Nodes that will be due to be updated within 90 days (3 months) from the current date
- 60 days until due: Nodes that will be due to be updated within 60 days (2 months) from the current date
- 30 days until due: Nodes that will be due to be updated within 30 days (1 month) from the current date
- Default filter view based on the 1 year deadline for Directive 6102:
- 1 year outdated: Nodes that have not been updated within 1 year from the current date
- Some filters display nodes that are past due, the year deadline for Directive 6102 has passed and the content has still not been updated. These filters are:
- Over 30 days past due: Nodes that have not been updated within 1 year and 30 days (1 month) from the current date
- Over 60 days past due: Nodes that have not been updated within 1 year and 60 days (2 months) from the current date
- Over 90 days past due: Nodes that have not been updated within 1 year and 90 days (3 months) from the current date
- Once you have added all your filters, click Filter.
